Hazyview

Hazyview is centrally located in the Kruger Lowveld region of Mpumalanga. Named after the haze that hangs over the Mpumalanga Lowveld during the summer months, Hazyview has a history of gold mining, and the town was established in 1959 with the construction of a post office. Hazyview played an important role in the development of the area. It is easy hour’s drive from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and 420 km from Johannesburg.

The greater Hazyview area (including the southern Kruger National Park) is home to an estimated 3000 plant species and 50% of South Africa’s butterfly, bird and mammal species. The subtropical climate, coupled with the fertile soils of the Sabie, Mac Mac, Sand and Sabaan river valleys, the absence of frost and the abundance of water, is every farmer’s dream come true. Hazyview produces about 20% of the country’s bananas. Other agricultural crops include citrus, granadilla, pawpaw, avocado pears, mangos, litchis, macadamia & pecan nuts, ginger, vegetables, flowers and timber.
